Leader:
Lord Jesus Christ, your power make known,
People:
For you are Lord of Lords alone.
Leader:
Defend your holy church, that we
People:
May sing your praise triumphantly.
Leader:
O Comforter of priceless worth,
People:
Send peace and unity on earth.
Leader:
Support us through all earthly strife,
People:
And lead us out of death to life.
*OPENING PRAYER
Let us open our hearts and minds to
the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. May GodÕs Spirit be here, leading us
toward a more mature faith, nurturing our hope and embracing us in love. Lord, remind us that the Scriptures proclaim to us of
GodÕs abiding and forgiving love. Remind us, Lord, that you have called us to
be peacemakers. Our world is so divided and troubled. Now we need your great
and worthy guidance to take up the message and practice of biblical
peacemaking. May we be persons of redeeming love and reconciling peace; in the
name of Jesus, our risen Lord and Savior. Amen.
